Provencal market of Cadenet
The Provençal market of Cadenet is held all the year on Mondays from 8am to 13pm. Stroll through the streets of the village and on the Place du 4 Septembre to experience the Provençal market, smell lavender, soaps, olives and tapenades!
Visit of the olive oil mill of the Bastide du Laval
Located just outside the village of Cadenet, a few minutes from the hotel, discover the wonderful world of olive, olive oil, mill and its olive grove. You will then have the opportunity to taste organic olive oil, green or black fruity olive oil, or aromatic olive oil, and feel the Provence through their boutique.
The site of the castle of Cadenet
The castle, built in the 11th century was dismantled by Louis XIV and then burned in 1792 by the revolutionaries. It has never been restored but major restoration work has been carried out since 1990. You can visit this place full of history by discovering the troglodyte dwellings and admire the magnificent panorama on the valley of the Durance.
The Basketwork Museum
Cadenet was famous in the 19th and 20th centuries thanks to basketery. You will be able to discover more than 1000 objects made of wicker or rattan, the tools and techniques used by the basket makers.
The cultural center of La Laiterie
This cultural center offers exhibitions of painting, sculpture and photos throughout the year.
Provencal markets around Cadenet
Many typical and traditional markets are organized all the year. On Tuesday you can visit the market of Cucuron, on Saturday, those of Villelaure and Lauris. The Provencal market of Lourmarin also worth a visit. It takes place on Friday from 8am to 1pm and the craft market on Sunday from 10am to 7pm. A market a little further but very well known: the market of the Isle sur la Sorgue, on Sunday mornings. One of the most frequented markets in France, organized on the quays, in the city center and on the market place. There is also the market of Apt and Aix en Provence which are also nice to visit.
Hilltop villages
Of course Cadenet is worth a visit. Lourmarin, Ansouis, two villages close to Cadenet and classified among the most beautiful villages in France, Lauris and its gardens, Cucuron, Bonnieux, Ménerbes, etc,: each village is unique and reveals exceptional panoramas.
The Luberon Regional Nature Park is also known for its designation of Controlled Origin Luberon, born in 1988. The appellation, which produces 3 colors of wines (red, rosé and blanc), includes 52 independent cellars and 10 cooperative cellars. You can visit many areas, from the most famous such as Castle Val Joanis to smaller and family cellars. In Cadenet, you can visit the Cave Louérion.
The Ocher Sands of Roussillon and the Colorado Provençal in Rustrel will offer you landscapes to take your breath away!
Water Activities
For children as well as for parents, many activities will please both! There are magnificent lakes in the surroundings, tree-top adventures parks, the water theme park SPLASHWORLD in Monteux.
Visit of Aix en Provence
30 minutes away from the hotel, visit this typical provencal town renowned for its animations and its boutiques.
Visit of Marseille
The capital of Provence is only 1 hour drive from the Mas du Colombier. This is an ideal 1 day excursion where you can visit the Docks, the seaside, Notre Dame de la Garde and the famous calanques!
Visit of Avignon
Avignon is also 1 hour from the hotel. This beautiful ad historical city offers many activities and visits, such as the famous Pont d’Avignon or the Palais des Papes.
